WHILE most Weymouth & Portland Cruising Association have been laying up their boats for the winter and starting the never ending winter maintenance jobs, Peter Anderson has spent the last couple of months in the sun.
He flew out to Costa Rica to purchase a new boat, Tack Till Nordic, and has been sailing it to the British Virgin Islands where he intends to keep it.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the passage through the Panama Canal, sharing the waterway with huge commercial ships and marvelling at the workings of the canal.
Peter and his crew also enjoyed stops in Tortola, the San Blas Islands, Aruba, Bonaire, and the US Virgin Island of St Thomas before finally arriving in the British Virgin Islands.
Peter is now back in Dorset and telling tales of his trip.
