WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley has praised the impact of Abdulai Baggie after his substitute appearance at Gosport Borough saw him help wrap up a 4-0 win in their Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division clash.

Baggie came on in the 64th minute and only needed three minutes before he cut the ball back to Ben Thomson, who fired in from the edge of the box to put Weymouth 3-0 up following a brace from Brandon Goodship.

Baggie then added the final gloss to the scoreline as he fired a shot in from distance that crashed in off the post.

Molesley said: “I felt that his energy and the way he plays the game I think he would be more suited coming on when the game is stretched out.

“I think that worked for us, there was good work from the team that started and then Baggie came on and was bright and lively.

“He got his goal and created one and the game had opened up a little bit. I felt that that was a good time for him to come on to the game.”

Baggie had started the Terras’ previous eight games and scored the winner in a tight 1-0 win against Chesham United in a successful run for him since he joined the Terras on October 28.

Molesley said: “Baggie has had a hell of a lot of games since he has come in.

“He deserved a little bit of a rest at the start, I feel that we got the maximum impact out of him.”

The Terras are next in action when they face Bishop’s Stortford at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
