WEYMOUTH Wildcats will base themselves at the home of Eastbourne Eagles for the coming season, sharing the stadium with the town’s National League team and Reading while Jordan Bull has joined the team from Plymouth.
They have decided to base themselves at the Arlington Stadium for Saturday nights throughout the summer.
Wildcats’ co-promoter Martin Peters said: “We are looking forward to a different track, a different experience.
“We have had dealings with the guys that own it before and they are really good guys so it will hopefully be a nice experience.
“It is quite nice, it is out of the way. It is a good stadium, it was a top division club at one stage until things took a little bit of a turn for the worse for them. So it is a nice little stadium.
“Slightly different on the track to Plymouth it is egg-shaped more than it is your standard speedway track.”
Peters said that the deal with Eastbourne is similar what they had with Plymouth where they performed on alternative weeks.
Meanwhile, Bull has joined the Wildcats from Plymouth to complete the team. Bull has been made Wildcats’ captain for the year ahead and Peters said that he is hoping that his experience from Plymouth will add to the team.
Peters said: “I have a very good feeling that these guys will be riding almost every meeting because they are very keen, they are very eager to learn and they just want to ride their bike.”
