DORCHESTER Town have launched a new fundraising initiative in a bid to raise a potential £15,000 towards the proposed installation of a 3G pitch at the Avenue Stadium.

The scheme, based on an idea by supporter Cameron Dabbs and titled ‘Pitch for the Community’, invites interested parties to buy hypothetical squares on the Avenue pitch, of which there are 100 available to purchase at £50 each.

For every square sold, the Magpies will receive £50 from both Dorchester Town Council and Dorset County Council, making each square worth £150 to the club.

Anyone from individuals and businesses are invited to participate and in return successful buyers will each receive their name, or a nominated name, on their purchased section of pitch, highlighted in a picture on the club’s website.

Buyers will also be recognised on the club’s social media channels, in matchday programmes and on a board visible at the Avenue Stadium. At the time of writing, more than 10 per cent of the squares had already been bought.

Interested parties are encouraged to register and nominate a square via info@dorchestertownfc.org.uk where payment can be made by bank transfer, cash, cheque or PayPal. For more details on ‘Pitch for the Community’ contact the club on info@dorchestertownfc.org.uk or call 01305 267623.
