BRIDPORT are in good spirits heading into their Toolstation Western League Premier Division match at home to Bitton tomorrow (3pm).

Bees’ boss Adam Fricker was buoyed following an impressive 4-0 victory at Chipping Sodbury Town in midweek.

The Bees are looking forward to stringing together a run of games with their fixture list hit hard by the weather, but secured the 4-0 win thanks to a brace from Chris McGrath and goals from Oscar Latas and Leighton Thomas.

Fricker told Echosport: “I think we need to be confident going into every game.

“The lads are in good spirits, confidence is high and performances are good we just need to keep the momentum going and hopefully get a run of games.

“Postponements are what’s hurting us at the moment, we will play in the middle of the week then the Saturday will be called off and we just cannot get a run of games going but we are hopeful that the bad weather is behind us and we can string some games and results together.”

Bridport face a Bitton side that sit directly above them in the table, and can overtake the side they beat 5-0 away back in September with a win.

Fricker said: “On their day they are a very good side. We went up there and beat them 5-0 earlier on in the season, we played very well. I think they did not play very well which probably helped as well.”

Bridport are currently on a run of form that has seen them win three of their last six matches while their opponents have two defeats, two wins and two draws in their last six games.

Fricker said: “We are under no illusions that it certainly will not be a 5-0 for sure.

“I am sure they will be coming to right a few wrongs and on their day they can be one of the best teams in the league.

“They have recruited predominantly a side full of Southern League players and I think if their manager is honest they have not performed to what they should be with the quality of player they have got.

“That being said we know they will be a big threat to us so we will have to be at our best to get something out of the game, that is for sure.”
