TWO Weymouth crews attended Appledore's Supervets Regatta.
The weekend event took place on Appledore Quay and started early to take advantage of the tides.
The course had two buoy turns and was approx 15 minutes long.
The ladies' racing started the day with four heats.
Weymouth fought hard with Sidmouth to achieve fifth place on a day which was damp and misty but generally calm conditions.
The wind picked up slightly for the men's heats.
Weymouth enjoyed a brilliant race, achieving third and a place in the semi-finals.
Sunday brought brighter conditions with the ladies coming fourth in their plate race.
This being one crew member's very first regatta.
Weymouth men's crew achieved third in the semi-final giving them a well-deserved place in the final where they finished close to the leading crews despite two broken stretchers.
A club spokesman said: "This was a very enjoyable regatta with Appledore winning overall and hosting an excellent weekend for all attending."
