PIDDLEHINTON RES 8 PORTESHAM RES 0

PIDDLEHINTON Reserves lifted the Dorset League Division Four trophy in emphatic fashion as they overcame a strengthened Portesham Reserves side 8-0 at Thomas Hardye School.

Striker Adam Barrett capitalised on a defensive error to open the scoring, before the lead was doubled as Josh Pashon played a smart one-two with Ben Brown to create himself space for the shot, which he tucked away brilliantly to find to the top-right corner.

As the game approached half-time, Piddlehinton upped the tempo further and deservedly added their third and fourth of the evening, with Pashon finding the target on both occasions to bag his first hat-trick for the club.

The second half started similarly for Piddlehinton as they again found the net, this time Harry Ackerman netting from Harry White’s cross.

As the game began to fade out in the second half Piddlehinton were adamant to keep the passing football going, and were duly rewarded further on the 70 minute mark as Adam Wash played an audacious pass to Barrett, who tucked the ball home from close range.

Late on, Piddlehinton added two more goals, with Wash again being the provider for Barrett, who hit his fourth goal on the night and 32nd overall.
