DORSET Over-50s host Cornwall on Sunday (1pm) at Dorchester’s Rec in the England Cricket Board senior competition.

Dorchester Cricket Club chairman, Mark Derrien, is delighted, saying: “The ongoing improvements at the club and ground have helped to cement forthcoming fixtures. Events like this can only happen with the help of local businesses and the town council. I’m pleased to say that we are once more seeing great support.”

The over-50s lost against the Channel Islands recently in a tight match. Local players such as Jim Ryall and Dave Trotter will be looking to produce a win against Cornwall.

Match manager Ian Paulley, said: “Obviously we were disappointed to lose the previous game but we are focused on reaching the play-off stages in the competition and a win against Cornwall would be welcomed. It would be great to see support on the day, where facilities can be enjoyed.’
