MEL Burton hit an amazing seven 180s on week four of the ADC Summer League despite losing his first match of the night to brother Chris Burton in the opening round of fixtures.

Chris led 2-0, only for Mel to pull level going into a one-leg shoot-out, but another 180 from Mel proved insufficient as Chris took out double 10 and the match.

This was Mel’s only defeat on the night as he won 3-0 against Heidi Paice, Paul Dormer and Mel Gregg.

Stewart Masters hit two 180s and a 143 shot out as he won all three matches for S Club 3, hitting a 14-dart leg in his 3-1 win over Chris Burton as Burton was on a double after 12 darts. He took a 3-1 victory over Dormer and then a 3-0 over Paice to claim three points for his team.

Paice suffered three 3-0 defeats on the night, losing to Dave Butler, as S Club 3 went on to to win 6-3 over Heidi’s Hornets.

Husband Matty Paice produced some great darts in his only victory of the night as he defeated the ever high-scoring Chris Stones 3-1, this either side of two 3-0 defeats to Arnie Quinn and Simon Sharpe respectively.

Thirteen darts and a 138 shot out from Quinn saw him chalk up an impressive 3-0 win against Andy Masters before a 3-0 success against Wayne Jordan and Paice.

A 3-1 defeat to Simon Sharpe and 3-0 defeat to Chris Stones, who had a 112 shot out, saw Jordan lose all three of his matches. Masters had a 118 shot out in his 3-1 win over over Sharpe with the end team score 6-3 to The Dogs over Wam.

Danny Aplin’s 3-1 win over Simon Churchill saw him claim the extra point needed for Mel’s Mower Men to take the team game 5-4 over The Natives.

Starting off with a 3-0 win over Mark Long and repeating the scoreline against Nige Davis, Aplin took three wins from three to lead the table.

Trevor Honnor won two and lost one as he hit a 180 in his 3-1 opening victory over Davis before losing a close battle with Churchill 3-2, who hit a 109 shot out to draw the game level and then start the final leg with three 100+ scores.

Churchill started the evening with a 3-0 win over Gregg who herself was unfortunate on the night to lose all her matches as she fell to 3-0 defeats against Long and Davis.

A highly-anticipated opening match in the First Time Luckies versus FIIK fixture saw current undefeated debutant Sam Ward beat winter semi-finalist Andrew McDermott 3-1 in what ended up a very one-sided match.

Ward made it nine wins from nine by beating Adam Mckay and Scott Gannon 3-0.

Gannon, who had two 3-2 opening matches, one for and one against, hit five perfect darts before the sixth hit the treble five. He took out 97 in his victory over Matty Betts after defeat to Drew Tweedy.

This was Tweedy’s only victory on the night as he suffered a 3-0 loss to McDermott and then a 3-1 reverse to McKay.

Despite defeat to Ward, McDermott hit two 180s as he ended the evening with a 3-0 win over Betts.

Betts’ 3-2 loss to Gannon could have gone either way as both players missed a handful of darts at a double to claim the victory. First Time Luckies kept up their winning team streak with an overall 5-4 win over FIIK.
