SAM Ward’s dominance of the ADC League continued as he made it another night undefeated, which saw him beat current title holder Danny Aplin 3-0 in their first meeting of the season.

Aplin, on a double after 12 and 15 darts in the first two legs of the match, did not even get a shot at a double as Ward took 65 and 98 out at the first time of asking.

A tricky start to the night for Ward saw Mel Gregg miss doubles in all three legs before eventually going on to lose 3-0.

Trevor Honnor was the only one from Mel’s Mower Men to take a leg off Ward but could not make further inroads in a 3-1 defeat.

Other results from First Time Luckies’ 6-3 win over Mel’s Mower Men saw Drew Tweedy claim two wins and one defeat; 3-1 versus Honnor and 3-0 versus Gregg before losing 3-1 to Aplin in the final game of the night.

Gregg, despite good play, unfortunately did not pick up any legs as she lost her last game 3-0 to Matty Betts.

However, she did manage a 180 in her defeat. Betts started off the night with 3-1 and 3-0 defeats to Aplin and Honnor respectively.

Arnie Quinn put last week’s disappointment behind him as he claimed three wins.

Chris Burton proved Quinn’s toughest test with both players matching top tungsten before Quinn scraped over the finishing line to claim the victory.

Quinn followed up this win with two 3-0 wins over Heidi Paice and Paul Dormer. Simon Sharpe inflicted a second defeat of the night to Dormer in his 3-0 win, this after the same scoreline versus Heidi Paice in their fixture.

Sharpe did however end the night with a 3-1 loss to Chris Burton. With Chris Stones not available to play, the final team result was 5-4 to the Dogs against Heidi’s Hornets.

Moving up the table, and with games in hand on the players above him, Mel Burton had the perfect night as he won all three of his matches against Mark Samways, Terry Tucker and Paul Paice 3-0.

Burton’s ever-high scoring and brilliant finishing left little opportunity for his opponents to take any legs, let alone the win.

A 15-dart leg and 108 out-shot against Paice were some of Burton’s highlights during his victories.

Dave Butler produced a great comeback in his match with Paice as he was 2-0 down and looking at defeat, yet he somehow dug in and came back to win 3-2.

This win for Butler was sandwiched in between two defeats; 3-0 to Samways and 3-2 to Terry Tucker.

The final team result, with Stew Masters being away, saw S Club Three beat Silver Foxes 4-2.

Simon Churchill rediscovered the high-scoring power that has eluded him at the beginning of this season.

His first match saw him hit a 177 to bring him back into the second leg against Wayne Jordan, with his next visit being the winning double.

With momentum on his side he took the third leg and a 3-0 win.

Matty Paice showed great resilience against Churchill in their contest before the latter edged the former out 3-2 in the final leg.

Nigel Davis also edged out Paice 3-2 in their match, this after scoring brilliantly well against Jordan, but struggles on the doubles saw Jordan claim his first win of the evening.

Jordan then finished the night with a 3-2 success over Dorchester thrower Mark Long.

The opening game on board five saw Long win 3-0 against Wareham-based Paice.

Andy Masters was unavailable to play due to injury so the final team score saw the Natives win 4-2 against WAM.
