THE South Dorset Cribbage League enjoyed another full year of competitions and at a packed end-of-season presentation night held at Dorchester’s Colliton Club.

Members from all twelve of the local pub and club teams dined and quizzed before welcoming new sponsors Cresta Leisure who were on hand to present the awards.

Colliton B, led by captain Gus Diment, were crowned league champions, finishing nine points clear of runners-up Spitfire Flyers, while at the other end of the table Tuppers, based at the Blue Raddle, ended up with the wooden spoon after a play-off with All Pegged out from the Bull’s Head.

Two out-of-town pub teams contested the League Knockout Cup with Martinstown’s Brewers Arms getting the better of Black Dog Nomads in a closely fought final.

The league will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, July 24 at the Colliton Club, starting at 8pm. As well as the usual business of reporting on the season just completed and the election of officers for the coming year, the meeting will also include the registration of teams intending to play in the 2018/19 season.

New teams, or indeed individual players, are always welcome.
