ALAN Mayall and Peter Rigby from the Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association cruised over to the Solent in a week of perfect sailing conditions, enough wind to sail and plenty of sunshine.

Alan Mayell in Osprey and Peter Rigby in Degage set off from Weymouth with a first stop in South Deep in Poole Harbour, where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of this beautiful anchorage.

They sailed onto Lymington where they met up with Jane and John Atkinson in Eleanor before visiting Beaulieu and Cowes where they were joined by Alan Pindar in Thyia.

The last port of call was Yarmouth before sailing back to Weymouth via Poole.

At the end of the trip Peter Rigby said: “We have had a fantastic time and I would like to thank Alan for a well organised and executed 10 days sailing.”

Elsewhere Chris and Tess Reid are cruising the Channel Islands in their yacht Monterey, their last port of call being a stop in Sark, while back in Weymouth Cornish Lady, Beth, Adelaide and Illusion have all been seen in the bay making the most of the excellent sailing conditions.
