MARTINSTOWN captain Ed Nichols admits the test of taking fourth spot in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier Division is a good focus for his side prior to the clash at Broadstone tomorrow (1.30pm).

Martinstown are currently sixth in the table, just three points behind fourth-placed Broadstone.

Nichols said: “I think it is really clustered up in the middle with the four sides in and around there so it does give us a good target with four games to go.

“Admittedly I think our fixture list is very tough but we have also got Broadstone and Shroton who are there around us.

“We have got a chance to take points off those other sides around us so it does give a good focus to it.”

Martinstown also face Poole, who are currently third, and league leaders Wimborne & Colehill before the end of the season.

Nichols, looking ahead to tomorrow’s opponents, said: “Broadstone are a really good side, they have got a really strong batting line-up, certainly in the top four.

“They have done damage against us in the past so it will be a tough challenge.

“The Delph is a hard place to go as well. It presents its own challenges, normally it is quite a high-scoring game so it could be good fun for the batters.”

Sean Williams, Will Maltby, Jamie Stewart and Jacob Coombes drop to the seconds while Matt Camp and Sam Kershaw are unavailable .

Monty Payne, Ryan Chase, Tom Pope, Liam Banfield, James Reynolds, Mike Kennedy-Barnard and Nathan McNab all come in.
