MARTINSTOWN captain Ed Nichols is wary of Shroton’s batting line-up and admits the match could go either way ahead of their Dorset Funeral Plan Premier Division clash at Lower Ashton Farm tomorrow (1.30pm).

Martinstown are without a win in three matches with their last two games having been away from home.

Shroton meanwhile had their last match abandoned, but beat Bere Regis in their most recently completed match.

“I think it will be an interesting game. It will be nice to be back at home after a couple of games away. I think Shroton are quite a dangerous side with some of the results they have had this year. They have got a batting line-up that can score very quickly.

“You have got to have good plans and as a team you have got to execute them well so it will be a good challenge for us, it could really go either way really,” Nichols said.

When discussing the table, which sees the two sides separated by just a point but Shroton are edged ahead by one point in fifth.

Nichols said: “I think we have both had split records where we have had really good games and we have had games that we have not met our standards, so I would not care to call it at this stage.

“But I am quite confident that we will do our best with it.

“It is a case of enjoying it at this stage, we have had a couple of those games in midweek where I think people have been enjoying their cricket.

“But we have not had a dedicated training session this week at all so I think the focus is to go out do our best and try new things at this stage of the year with a view to the next.”

Both Tom and George Pope are unavailable, as is Mike Kennedy-Barnard. However, Lee House is back as well as Shaun Williams and Will Maltby with Jamie Stewart replacing Charlie Durant, and Matt Camp is in with James Reynolds missing out.
