GOALKEEPER David Roberts has become the second player to be released by Weymouth manager John Hollins as he continues to shape his squad for next season.

The former Liverpool man made just one appearance for the club after being drafted in by former boss Jason Tindall in January.

Roberts follows Franklin Anzite out the exit door at the Wessex Stadium and Hollins is expecting to make more announcements over the next few days.

He said: "David Roberts has been released and I may have more news on comings and goings later today.

"As I have said before I want a squad of around 18 quality players with a couple of boys in there that I have not seen yet. I want young legs around and I have got a couple in mind."

Hollins has also revealed that he wants his squad members to move to the area.

He added: "I am already talking to three or four players but I am not going to be held to ransom, I can't be held to ransom.

"I want people who want to be here and I do not want a travelling armada of people that we have to pick up all over the country.

"I want the team here so I can keep an eye on where they are and what they are doing."

Terras' fans are particularly hoping Hollins can land defender Chris Blackburn. The Swindon Town man had a huge influence on Wey-mouth's successful survival bid in the Blue Square Premier but he is also attracting the interest of other clubs.

Hollins said: "Chris is one I am talking to. He has helped us a lot but he is also in very high demand so we will just have to see what we can do.

"Matt Bailey, Tony Bedeau, Jake Hyde and Stephen Henderson have also helped us and I am keeping an eye on their situations as well.

"They all did a magnificent job for us and added strength to our team alongside the players that were already with us."
