FIRST-TEAM squad member Lewis Ironside was given a run out as Weymouth Under-18s ran riot in the second half against Sherborne Town at the Terrace Playing Fields.
The talented youngster, who missed most of last season with an ankle injury, came on at half time and inspired the Terras to a 6-0 victory after a goal-less first period.
Ironside helped his side retain possession better and when Mark Sargent slid in at the far post to open the scoring the floodgates opened.
The second was an early goal of the season contender and it came from Ollie Tribe who volleyed home spectacularly after Terngu Agera had beaten several defenders down the left.
Ben Reiffer then made it 3-0 from the spot after Charlie Tubbs was sent flying before a brace from Tom Richardson and a strike from Agera completed the rout.
Manager Tim Davis, whose side will be playing in the South West Counties Youth League this season, said: "It was a good run out against a team who tried to play football in the right way and we certainly have some great prospects coming through.
"I do not normally single players out because it is a team game, however, on this occasion I would like to praise Jordan Vincent who I thought was magnificent.
"We will now look to field some more trialists in our next couple of games before finalising the squad for the forthcoming campaign."
