WEYMOUTH boss John Hollins has not yet received any offers for the five players he transfer-listed at the weekend.

However, AFC Bournemouth manager Jimmy Quinn and his assistant Jason Tindall, and Yeovil Town's number two Steve Thompson were all in attendance at the Wessex Stadium last night as Weymouth captured a creditable 2-2 draw against Blue Square Premier leaders Crawley Town.

Three of those up for sale, Scott Doe, Michael Malcolm and James Coutts, signed for the Terras when Tindall was at the helm but so far the non-League club has received no firm enquiries for either man, or Danny Knowles and Josh Webb.

Hollins said: "Scott and Malcolm started tonight, and James came on in the second half and the way they have performed for me has been excellent.

"If I could I would like to be able to give them more money but at the moment there is nothing left in terms of the playing budget.

"They are working hard for me and if things do come in and there is an opportunity there for them then it will be up to them to decide if they want to go or not but so far we have had no offers.

"That is the way I work and I want to do the right thing for them and for the club. None of them have let me down and I want them to reap the rewards.

"This is their livelihood and I want them to succeed. I also want to get this place going and if we do let them go it means we can bring in new players which is the other side of it.

"We have made a satisfactory start. We have put in some good performances and played some great football at times but I am a point collector, that is my job, and that is what I want to do and so far we have not collected enough."

The Terras fell behind after just 50 seconds to a goal from their ex-skipper Simon Weatherstone but they were soon creating chances with Chris McPhee levelling on 22 minutes.

Town keeper Simon Rayner made two exceptional saves before the break but he then committed a huge blunder allowing Pierre Joseph-Dubois to put the hosts ahead nine minutes into the second half.

It looked for a time that Weymouth would hold on but a knock down by substitute Steve Fletcher set up defender Adam Quinn who forced the ball in from close range to capture Crawley a share of the spoils.

Hollins, whose side remains 18th and without a win in their last seven games, added: "It was a fantastic match. Crawley are a top side and to concede a goal after just 50 seconds was a big blow.

"However, we rallied and started tearing them apart. In total we had 12 shots on goal in the first half and to be fair their keeper made two great saves.

"We then went ahead after taking advantage of an error but they managed to get back level towards the end.

"Overall I am pleased. The performance in terms of work rate and the way we moved the ball around was good, especially when you take into account that we also had a few players out."

Kevin Sandwith started for the Terras despite being rated 50-50 before the encounter and Sam Cutler replaced Santos Gaia, who joined fellow injury victims Stuart Beavon and Adam Bygrave in the stands.

Hollins said: "We still do not know when those players will be back. Stuart was close this evening but he felt it a bit and with knee ligaments you cannot afford to take a risk.

"But in their absence I thought there were a lot of good performances tonight. Pierre is top class and now he has shaken off that hamstring injury he suffered at the start of the season and is really beginning to prove himself.

"Michael Malcolm also had a good game as did Ryan Williams who is also starting to show just what he is all about. The keeper and the back four did well too."

Weymouth's next game will see them make the long trip to Northwich Victoria on Saturday, who have won just twice so far this season and lie second-bottom.
