WEYMOUTH will have to guard against the threat of Kidderminster Harriers’ dynamic duo if they are to stand any chance of claiming a positive result at the Aggborough Stadium tomorrow (3pm), according to Terras’ boss Alan Lewer.

Kiddy strikers Justin Richards and Matthew Barnes-Homer have netted 24 goals between them so far and with their side having lost just once on their own patch in the Blue Square Premier this season the Terras face a tough task ahead of them.

Lewer, whose side has not played since Boxing Day, said: “It is a difficult one. They have only lost one out of 13 at home this season and they are pushing hard for promotion but it is all about which team performs on the day and if we do then I am sure we will be okay.

“As well as Richards and Barnes-Homer, they also have Stefan Moore but I think they will go with Richards and Barnes-Homer as they are the ones who have been have been doing it for them since the start of the season.

“Barnes-Homer is very quick and they both have good movement so we are going to have be well-organised to deal with that. They have also got Martin Brittain, who is capable of great deliveries into the box, and Russell Penn, who is also a big threat., but there is no reason why we cannot go there and cement our position in mid-table with a win. If we could do that and then go on a run who knows who we could catch.”

Sam Cutler is the only player unavailable for the Terras due to a one-game suspension for five yellow cards.

Lewer added: “With the postponements we have had recently Sam’s one-match ban must be the longest ever but apart from him we have a full squad to choose from. Jordan Collins was ill earlier in the week but he has trained the last couple of days and should be involved, as will Marcus Browning.

“We have also signed Scott Dixon, who has returned to the club on non-contract terms. He is also available.”

New-signing Lee Phillips, who netted twice in a 3-0 friendly win over AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday, should make his competitive debut tomorrow.

Lewer said: “Lee has settled in very well and he gives us something different. He is strong and powerful, and that is something we have been lacking.”

Meanwhile, chief executive Gary Calder has poured scorn over rumours that former director Dave Higson has completely pulled out of talks regarding the future of the Blue Square Premier club.

Calder has confirmed that Higson remains part of the negotiations and that a statement regarding the take-over of the Terras will be released on Monday.

A consortium struck a deal with majority shareholder Malcolm Curtis before Christmas but due to the festive period there has been a hold up concerning the relevant documentation.

Calder said: “We are still talking to Dave Higson and several others and we will be releasing a statement on Monday.”
