King urges Beads to fire Chickens into last eight

CHICKERELL United manager Brendon King has urged striker Liam Beads to seize his opportunity in tomorrow’s Dorset Premier League Cup clash with Parley Sports (2pm).

With fellow forwards Warren White (suspended) and Nick Etherington (unavailable) both absent this weekend, Beads is set to partner Adam Linaker in attack.

And King, whose side will earn a quarter-final tie with Cranborne if they win at Parley tomorrow, said: “Warren starts a three-game ban and Nick is unavailable so we’ll bring Liam back into the squad.

“He’s big and strong and will hold the ball up. It’s a chance for him to stake a claim. He’s had a lot of injuries, which have not helped, but he has worked hard.”

Utility man Andy Graham and midfielder Ross Doidge will also miss the trip to 13th-placed Sports but King is delighted to welcome back defenders Dan Welch and Adam Anstey.

He added: “Dan is back, which is a big boost, as is Adam who played for the reserves last week and came through unscathed.

“It’s good we’ve got those two back as we’ve lost Andy for a month due to family commitments.

“Ross won’t be involved either. He’s got an ankle injury and we want to rest him because we’ve got a lot of games coming up and we want him in the best possible shape.”

King’s men earned a 2-1 win over Parley on the opening day of the season but the Chickens’ chief is anticipating a tough examination in tomorrow’s encounter.

He said: “We want to win and if we do win we’ll have Cranborne at home in the next round, so it’s a nice draw.

“We played Parley on the first day of the season, I was impressed with them then and I’ve watched them since so we’re not expecting it to be a walkover.”
