DORSET trainer Colin Tizzard admitted to being “spellbound” after Cue Card’s shock 40-1 win in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival yesterday.
Ridden by son Joe, Cue Card beat off the challenge of Paul Nicholls’ Al Ferof to finish eight lengths clear.
The Milborne Port handler said: “If anyone saw him hack up at Fontwell they would have guessed he was a bit special.
“I was worried he was doing too much but he got there easily in the end. We know he’s a good horse but I’m shellshocked by that.”
Cue Card was given a 10-1 quote from Paddy Power for the 2011 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, for which he is as short as 7-1 with Stan James.
