FEARS that defender Sam Clarke may have broken a foot in Monday’s 4-1 defeat against Bashley have been laid to rest by a hospital X-ray.
The ex-Portland United star limped off in the second half but a scan has revealed no break, which has come as a huge relief for Weymouth boss Ian Hutchinson.
Striker Sam Charles also took a trip to A&E after the game following a clash of heads, which left him requiring stitches.
Hutchinson said: “Thankfully Sam Clarke is okay. His foot is badly bruised and it will be painful for a while but at least it is not broken. It may mean he is touch and go for a bit but all we can do is just keep monitoring it.
“As for Sam Charles, he was whisked off to hospital straight after the game where he received five stitches to his head.”
Meanwhile, there are no updates on Jules Emati-Emati’s fitness.
The former Dorchester Town forward missed the loss against the Bash through food poisoning.
Hutchinson added: “I have no more information on Jules at this stage and again it will just be something we will monitor as the week goes on.”
In other club news, the deadline to raise £20,000 to begin court proceedings against former chairman Malcolm Curtis and Wessex Park Ltd has passed.
The fighting fund was set up in June in a bid to win back the land surrounding the Bob Lucas Stadium, but the five-figure sum has failed to materialise.
Terras’ chairman George Rolls said: “The club will take no further action at present as there is not enough money in the fighting fund.”

Rolls is a disgrace he knows it will be more expensive than £20000 to get the land back yet he put this figure on it. If the word on the street is to be believed then he has been meeting Curtis at the Moonfleet Hotel so he was not seen. Did not work did it Rolls?
