WESSEX Golf Centre stalwarts Jon Bevan and Michael Watson are in contention at the halfway stage of the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at De Vere Carden Park.
Bevan’s two-under-par 70 leaves him five strokes off the lead held by Midland pro Craig Shave at 10-under with Watson seven shots off the summit after adding a 69 to his level par first round.
Bevan rustled up three birdies on the outward nine with just a bogey on 11 blotting his card but the two-time PGA Cup player was far from happy with his game and headed straight to the range for some extra practice.
“I didn’t swing it well so I need to go to the range and work on a few things,” said Bevan.
