They continued to score heavily, eventually winning 35-9.

Despite being 7-1 down after four ends against D Mitchell, P Inge, A Golding and B Stone, the travelling Dorchester rink of John Lawlor, Terry Green-man, Pete Clarke and Steve Gait went 10-7 ahead after nine ends and 14-10 after 15.

The Branksone rink failed to score another shot and Gait’s rink won 23-10.

Dorchester’s other away rink of Peter Stevenson, Barry Day, Dave Joslin and Eddy Young played J Pinson, E Sandell, G Cox and A Bliss and raced into an 11-1 lead after six ends.

The Branksome rink came back at them and Young’s quartet found themselves 13-12 down, but they got back into their stride to win 24-17.
