THE Children’s Activities Club at Budmouth Community Sports Centre ended its summer programme with a day of inflatable fun, which was attended by 65 children from the Weymouth and Portland area.

During the six-week summer holiday, BCSC has opened its doors to children aged six to 14 years, offering a programme packed with fun activities for children, including dodgeball, football, rounders, a bouncy castle and much more.

Also included as part of the programme were extra taster sessions in indoor climbing wall, netball, trampolining, taekwondo and street dance, delivered by outside qualified instructors.

One boy, new to this summer’s activities, described the final day as ‘the bestest’ day he has ever had, with many children sharing the same opinion.

BCSC has also offered Level One and Two Bikeability cycle training courses over the six weeks, which will continue into the new academic year.

A Budmouth spokesman said: “On behalf of everyone at BCSC, a big thank you must go to Weymouth Bouncy Castle for the loan of their equipment.

“Also, big thanks to Theresa Rogers and Frances Hayes from Wessex Flyers, John Harrison from Wessex Taekwondo, Rob McDonald from Weymouth Taekwondo and Rich Taylor of Weymouth Junior Netball for all their help and hard work over the summer holidays.

“We will be continuing kids’ club at BCSC during all holidays during the 2012/13 academic year.”
