BRENDON King has warned his players they must give their opponents the utmost respect tomorrow or face an early exit from the FA Cup.

Totton & Eling may sit two leagues below the Terras but they have recorded five wins in their last six and will no doubt be eyeing a possible giant-killing act this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the first qualifying round clash at Little Testwood Farm (3pm), Weymouth boss King told Echosport: “We have had a couple of reports done on them and if any of our lads are thinking we are just going to turn up and win then they have another thing coming.

“It is vital we give them the utmost respect and leave nothing to chance because this game will be like a cup final for them and on their own patch they will fancy giving us a real game.

“If the mindset of the lads is right and we show the correct attitude and application, our quality will shine through but if it is not then we could come unstuck.

“With the experience we have in the side I am sure that won’t happen but one thing is for sure and that is we have no given right to win this game and must approach it in a professional manner.”

Sam Poole and Barry McConnell picked up knocks in last Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with AFC Totton but King is hopeful they will both be fit enough to start.

He added: “Both of them should come through but we shall make a decision on that over the next 24 hours.”

Former Southampton man Jo Tessem could turn out for Totton & Eling. The Norwegian, now aged 40, is generally used as a late substitute.
