MARK Jermyn, Jamie Gleeson and Ben Watson are expected to give the Magpies a triple boost this weekend.

The latter missed last Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Chelmsford with a hamstring complaint while Jermyn and Gleeson limped out during the match itself.

However, boss Phil Simkin is confident the influential trio will be fit to face AFC Hornchurch in two days’ time.

He said: “They all came in for treatment on Tuesday night and they all responded to it. Hopefully they will all be okay for Saturday – fingers crossed.

“We managed to mend and make do last Saturday but you wouldn’t want to do that every week.

“Out of the three, Jem is the most doubtful but I think they will all be available. They will all be in again tonight for more treatment so hopefully they will all report fit for Saturday.”

Simkin was last night due to travel to Shrivenham in order to run the rule over upcoming FA Cup opponents Wootton Bassett Town.

Speaking yesterday, the manager added: “In our situation we can’t afford to take any chances. As I said before, we will give Wootton the respect they deserve.”

Simkin revealed on Monday that he was hopeful of bolstering his ranks this week.

Asked for an update, he replied: “There’s not really anything to report just yet I’m afraid.”
