The race consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 59-mile bike ride and a half marathon, which will cover 13.1 miles along the coastal path around the isle of Portland.

This is not an event for the faint-hearted but a challenge for all abilities of athlete.

Breathtaking scenery around Dorset will be a feature of the event with plenty of views of Chesil Beach and Portland Bill , plus the beautiful villages of Little Bredy, Abbotsbury and Portesham .

Organiser Mark Steen said: “Starting and finishing at the excellent home of British sailing, this event location has stunning facilities, with a very calm swim expected inside the sheltered sea wall, a smooth block laid transition area and plenty of showers and toilets, plus a cafe stocked full of refreshments for after the event – you would be crazy to miss it.

“Coming off the back of the Olympics , this set up will amaze you at how this location makes for a perfect race base.”
