WEYMOUTH UNDER-18s 1 BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS 4

REX Buttle felt his young Terras let themselves and the club down during their ill-tempered FA Youth Cup exit against Bemerton Heath.

The hosts held their own early on with Brandon Heal wiping out an early opener but as the game wore on they began to gradually lose their discipline, culminating in two red cards in extra-time.

Adam Frame was the first to receive his marching orders following an off-the-ball clash with an opponent before Louis Smith followed suit for a poor tackle.

The end result was a 4-1 defeat and Buttle could not hide his disappointment afterwards.

He said: “They let me down, themselves down and the club down with their attitude and approach to it.

“This club is trying to give them an opportunity by putting things in place for them to progress but on the evidence of that showing they clearly don’t want to take it up.

“I like football to be played in the right way and if they cannot play it in the right way then I don’t want to know anymore.

“I feel ashamed of them and there were no excuses for it at all.

“They were not a patch on the lads that played against Wimborne Town recently and it has left us thinking ‘where do we go from here’.”
