DAVE Kiteley believes it is only a matter of time until Dorchester Town Reserves reap their rewards.

The young Magpies are still searching for their first win of the season following four straight defeats in the Wyvern Premier League.

However, luck has deserted the county town outfit on numerous occasions this term and their manager is confident the tide will soon turn.

Kiteley, whose charges travel to Bashley tonight (7.45pm), said: “They have just got to keep doing the right things.

“Apart from the defeat to Christchurch I have been pleased with the performances and the way they have gone about their jobs.

“I will just ask them to carry on as normal – I won’t be asking for much different.

“They know it’s only a matter of time before they get their rewards.”

The reserves could be bolstered by the inclusion of the first team’s newest arrival – Spanish winger Jon Garcia – and fit-again midfielder Jamie Symes.

Kiteley added: “I have to speak to Phil Simkin first about who will be playing as we’re hoping to give Garcia some minutes.

“Jamie trained on Tuesday night, which is a bonus, so he could well be involved, and so could Elliot Ward and Gary Funnell.

“The only downside is that Danny Way picked up a bit of a groin strain playing for the under-18s last Saturday.

“Our physio Damion Maston has decided it will be better to rest him for tonight’s game and have treatment instead.”

The Magpies do have one long-term absentee in defender Lloyd Beals, who suffered a sickening clash of heads in the 3-1 loss at Christchurch almost a fortnight days ago.

Asked for an update on Beals’ progress, Kiteley replied: “Lloyd went back into hospital last Friday and had an operation over the weekend as his cheekbone was cracked.

“He’s had a metal plate inserted in his jaw and the surgeon said the operation went exceptionally well.

“There has been no damage to his eyesight, which is the most important thing, so fingers crossed he could be back in a couple of months.”
