CRAIG Duff’s disallowed goal was a pivotal moment in last night’s 2-0 defeat at Frome Town, according to Weymouth boss Brendon King.

The midfielder’s header on 28 minutes would have put the Terras ahead but the referee ruled it out for a push on a defender.

However, King is adamant it was a perfectly good goal and reckons had it stood the game would have turned out very differently.

He told Echosport: “It was no different to any other header in any other game and it was just so frustrating.

“We were well on top at that point and deserved a goal but things just don’t seem to be going for us at the moment.

“Unfortunately, goals change games and had that been given I am confident things would have been very different.”

King went on to add: “We played some neat football at times but once again we didn’t test their keeper enough.

“Now we need to show some character and ensure we don’t dwell on this for too long with another tough trip at the weekend.”

Weymouth have picked up just seven points from their opening eight games in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division where they currently lie just four places above second-bottom on goal difference.
