BRENDON King is in talks with a couple of players as he looks to turn the Terras’ fortunes around following a disappointing start to the campaign.

Results have not always reflected the calibre of some of Weymouth’s performances this season and the club’s determined boss believes new blood is the answer.

King, whose side have picked up just one win in eight in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division, told Echosport: “I am speaking to a couple of players at the moment because I think a shake-up in a couple of areas might be just what we need.

“Obviously we have a budget to stick to but if we can bring in players that will strengthen the squad we will.

“I have already put seven days in for one player, who is currently playing in a higher league, and I am also looking at two or three others as well.”

King refused to divulge any further details on the players in question but did pour cold water on the possibility of Ben Gerring returning to the club from Kettering Town.

The Terras are back in action on Saturday when they entertain Tiverton Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy (3pm).
