SUPER sub Adam Frame rescued Weymouth a deserved point at St Mary’s Field on Saturday.

It took just two minutes for the young forward to make his mark after Jack Scovell had put the hosts ahead five minutes after the interval.

Terras’ joint-manager Jake Richmond, who included 10 teenagers in his 14-man squad, told Echosport: “We had a really young side out and I was delighted with the performance.

“I would have taken a point before the game but after we equalised we very nearly went on and won it.

“We had eight teenagers in the starting XI and to see a 16-year-old come off the bench and grab the equaliser was just fantastic.

“There was a slight lapse in concentration for their goal but apart from that the lads were superb.

“Young Jack Brown came in and played his first-ever game at left-back and the way he applied what we asked of him was incredible.

“The aim now is just to try and get some consistency out of them. We have some really talented players and if they can just add that to their game they will stand every chance of progressing.”

Jamie Beasley and Sanchez Baker both threatened for the Terras before Jamie Perry raced off his line and made a smart save with his feet to prevent the Bees from taking the lead.

However, there was nothing the visiting keeper could do on 50 minutes when a momentary lapse from his side enabled Bridport to intercept the ball at a throw-in and set up Scovell, who fired home from close range.

Despite that setback though, Weymouth continued to battle and after Baker went close again, they finally got the goal their endeavour deserved when Matt Morley and Liam Greatrex combined to tee up Frame.

After that the Terras went on to look the more threatening side and nearly claimed the win in the dying seconds when Greatrex found the net only to see his effort ruled out by an offside flag against Matt Head.

Bees’ boss Robin Townsend added: “A draw was probably a fair reflection.

“However, the fact we got our noses in front and failed to see the game out was a little bit disappointing.

“In fact, as soon as they scored they probably looked the stronger side and had two or three chances to go on and take all three points.

“Both teams did lack a bit of quality at times but there was also some good young talent on display.

“I was especially pleased for Jack Scovell, who is coming on leaps and bounds.”

Weymouth now sit 14th in the Magna Dorset Premier League while the Bees lie eighth.
