DORCHESTER TOWN RESERVES v SALISBURY CITY RESERVES

Dorchester Town Reserves go in search of a third consecutive win tonight as they play host to Salisbury (7.45pm).

The Magpies have recorded victories in each of their previous two outings and enter this evening’s encounter in confident mood.

Assistant-manager Dave Whalley said: “We have played well all season and we’ve had some good performances from the lads.

“We have failed to score on occasions but we managed to get results in the last couple of games and we’re looking to carry that on.

“Hopefully we have now turned a corner.”

Dorchester’s last fixture, a 3-1 success over Wimborne, saw a host of first-team members turn out for the reserves.

There will be no such luxury tonight though, as the senior squad also take on their Salisbury counterparts – but at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.

The county town second-string do, however, welcome back last season’s skipper Steve Walker and full-back Danny Way for the Whites’ visit.

Whalley added: “I’ve got to speak to Phil about whether we will have anyone from the first team but I think the majority of our team will be the younger reserve lads again. It’ll be good for them to get back into it.

“Josh Tennant picked up a bit of a knock after training last week but he should be okay.

“Danny Way is back from a groin injury but Calvin Brooks is out as we’re waiting to hear about his knee injury.

“We have though brought back Steve Walker from his loan at Hamworthy United to help out this evening.

“It could just be a short-term return, we will see how things go. It’ll be good to see him back.”
