Dorchester TOWN 1 BASINGSTOKE TOWN 0
JAMIE Gleeson scored the only goal of the game as Dorchester Town reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time in four years.
The Magpies' midfielder struck seven minutes into the second period at the Greene King IPA Community Stadium.
Basingstoke dominated the first half but failed to make their supremacy count and ultimately paid the price.
The hosts were also indebted to a brave double substitution from boss Phil Simkin, who replaced Neil Martin and Lewis Morgan with Arran Pugh and Jamie Symes after only 26 minutes.
The move was tactical but Simkin also admitted the withdrawn duo had been suffering from illness prior to kick-off.
