GLOBETROTTERS Chris Senior and Alan Hill will be sorely missed at St Mary’s Field, according to Bees’ boss Trevor Senior.

The two defenders are scheduled to jet off on their travels this weekend and with Darren Lock also unavailable at present it will no doubt open the door for others to stake a claim in the first team.

Trevor Senior said: “It was a shame that Tuesday night’s home game against Bishop Sutton was called off because that would have been Chris’ last before he goes to Australia on Saturday.

“He is not due back until next August and it would have been nice for him to have had some sort of farewell.

“Alan Hill is also due to go out there the day after and his final game will be at Larkhall Athletic on Saturday.

“I am sorry to lose both of them because they are key players and have been great servants for the club.

“With Darren Lock training for the Marines at present, it means we are now missing three centre-backs but it does give others a chance to come in and stake a claim.”

Commenting further on Tuesday’s postponement, Sen-ior added: “It was frustrating because we could have done with a home game. We have hardly had any games at St Mary’s so far but at the end of the day you can’t do much about the weather.

“So far we have played 10 in the league and only three of them have been at home.

“Our next one is against Radstock Town on October 20.”

The Bees are currently on a winless run of five game in all competitions but following last weekend’s fine showing at league leaders Cadbury Heath, Senior is confident his men can buck that trend at Larkhall (3pm).

He said: “Last season they beat us both times but I always felt we were in both games.

“Defensively they are strong but if we can repeat the type of showing we put on at Cadbury Heath last Saturday we will stand every chance.

“Obviously Chris won’t be there and I also have to decide whether to play Matt Condliffe or not, who is due to serve a three-game suspension.

“Chris Luke and Sam Buck-ler both picked up knocks last weekend but I am hoping they will be fine.”
