THE Terras will shuffle the pack at Tatnam tonight when they take on Poole Town in the first round of the Red Insure Cup (7.45pm).

Weymouth boss Brendon King has admitted it is a game his side could do without and is planning to rotate his squad as much as possible to protect it from injuries.

He told Echosport: “We have got a couple of big games coming up in the league so this evening’s match is quite low on the list of priorities. In fact, it is a cup I am not particularly bothered about.

“It is more of a distraction than anything else, particularly with a new ruling having come in this year that states we must play seven of the players that started in the previous two games.

“The idea is to stop sides putting out their reserves but we are still going to be changing things around where we can to protect some of the lads because the last thing we can afford is injuries.

“Chris Povall and Lewis Clarke will both come in as will Scott Dixon, while Kyle Critchell will definitely be rested.

“Some people might say this game is better than training but I am sure Poole Town will be approaching it the same way as us.

“They are top of the league below and going well and I am sure the last thing they are going to want is anything to affect that.”

Since returning to the Southern Premier Division, the Terras have never progressed beyond the first round of the competition, crashing out to Bashley and Sholing in the past two years.
