RUNNERS head for Weymouth Esplanade this morning for the 51st annual 10-mile road race (10.30am) More than 200 athletes will line up on the start line next to Alexandra Gardens for the annual event.

Many runners will be representing clubs from across the county and beyond.

Weymouth 10 is organised by Egdon Heath Harriers.

The course will take runners along the full length of the Esplanade to Overcombe Corner before taking two laps of a challenging hilly circuit around Bowleaze and Preston.

The runners will then head back along the promenade to finish in front of the Weymouth Pavilion.
