Day 1 of Miami OCR was very uneventful as big rain clouds were forecasted so the race committee decided not to send us out racing as they were not sure it they would bring too much wind and thunder and lightning.

So at 12:30 the Paralympic boats went home. I spent the rest of the day watching Law and Order on the TV and then went to watch Sherlock Holmes in the cinema.

Today we got racing and had three good races although the wind never stayed in the same direction for longer than a minute which made sailing very difficult.

It was a good day for most Paralympic classes as we hold all the bronze medal spots with Helena in 16th as she started one race too early so got disqualified.

The way the scoring works is 1 point for 1st, 2 for 2nd and so on. Over the series of races which is ten in this regatta a boats total is all their scores added together.

The boat with the lowest score wins. In this series there is also a discard which means the boats worst score is deducted from their total score.

Tomorrow looks like light winds again so it should be another interesting day in the sun.
