A good weeks training!
We are just coming to the end of a great week training in Weymouth preparing for the Pre Olympic Test Event starting a week on Monday. We’ve had a good group of guys to train against and done way more starts than I can remember!

Through to the petite finals in Sweden
Today has been a tricky and frustrating day for us. We started off with very shifty conditions and short courses, we had 3 races of the round robin 1 which we lost against Tunnicliffe, won against Souter and unfortunately were given a black flag (for three penalties...action packed!) meaning we are not allowed to continue racing against Leroy.

OLYMPIC HOPEFULL: Big day tomorrow!
We finished the gold fleet round robin today in 4th place so we're ready and rearing to go for the playoffs tomorrow. It's going to be a big day with quarter finals and then all being well straight into the semi finals so a possible 10 races. In our quarters we'll be against the Dutch team helmed by Mandy Mulder and if we win the best of 5 series we'd go through to race the winner of Barkow (USA) vs Lehtinen (FIN). The Dutch are a good fast team so I'm sure it will be exciting racing but we're feeling good about the day.

Day one Skandia Sail for Gold
Day one of Skandia Sail for Gold and Annie, Kate and I just got down to the venue. Although many of the fleets are still hanging around onshore, the Match racing started on time and now are moving onto the second group B. We are once again in group C this week so will be last on today to start our first round robin.

Skandia Sail for Gold countdown begins
It doesn’t matter how long you spend training in a venue there is still always something new to learn about it every day.

OLYMPIC HOPEFULL: Gold in Hyeres!
Finals of the French Olympic Week today here in Hyeres and we won! We were once again up against Barkow's team (USA) and this time it was a win to us, and quite a convincing one at 3-0.

OLYMPIC HOPEFUL: Waiting game
Well today was mostly a waiting game for us. There was a little bit of breeze this morning so the repechage group got out in good time and by 1pm we had finished our final two matches of the gold fleet, finishing with one win and one loss to win the group and go through to the quarter finals ranked 1st.

OLYMPIC HOPEFULL: Gold fleet is round the corner
Another good day for us today, two wins and one loss meant we have won our group and has therefore put us through to the gold fleet and quarter finals. Second and also going through to the gold fleet in our group was the Dutch team helmed by Groeneveld, and Le Berre (FRA) and Abrahamsen (DEN) go through to the repechage.
