A WELL-ATTENDED Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association AGM at Castle Cove Sailing Club heard from president Michael Gregory what a successful year 2013 had been.

Membership numbers have remained steady and many successful cruises have taken place.

The committee were thanked for their work throughout the year and, in particular, Alan Pindar who stood down as treasurer.

Gregory was re-elected as club president and Sandy Watson was welcomed to the committee as the new treasurer. The president presented trophies to Peter Goss and Jeremy Parkinson.

Goss received the Founder’s Cup for best log and the bent prop for the best confessional.

Parkinson received the Ubiq-uitous Cup for planning and safety.

Meanwhile, Phil Stringer in Taufen has arrived in Troon for the start of several weeks cruising the coast of Scotland. The 2014 cruising programme got underway last weekend with a day sail to Lulworth in perfect sailing conditions.
