A WARM welcome was given to the newly-appointed commodore at Weymouth Sailing Club (WSC).

Kathy Claydon handed the position to Euan McNair at the WSC AGM. Unfortunately, McNair was not present at the meeting but a Skype link was connected to him in order for him to accept his new position.

McNair said: “I am very grateful that you have decided that I am suitable to act as commodore on your behalf and hope that I will meet your expectations.

"I have no intention of attempting to bring in any new broom to the club, as that would be arrogant and incorrect. I would hope to continue the good work done by Kathy and safeguard the club and its facilities for the future.

"This will be in line with the development plan and club constitution to promote sailing in the port of Weymouth by organising sailing races and other events.”

As well as hearing about the highlights of a successful year for the club, members were also brought up to date with some of the new developments which are currently being planned.
