WEYMOUTH windsurfing hotshot Scotty Stallman had an impressive finish in the professional fleet.
Stallman, 14, took part in an event in Harwich as part of the UK Windsurfing Association, British Slalom Association Series.
The forecast leading up to the event was less than promising with Saturday dawning with little wind. No racing took place, leaving competitors the opportunity to tune up their kit.
The second day started much the same but fortunately, a change in wind direction and an increasing wind speed enabled racing to take place in the afternoon.
Stallman said: “The racing was incredible, very competitive, and the conditions were quite tricky, the sea state was choppy and quite confused with winds building up to around 20 knots.
“I got through to the winners’ finals in all three heats, with my best two counting results a third and fourth pushing me through to finish as the first junior and a really pleasing fourth overall in the pro fleet.”
Training now continues for Stallman in preparation for the next in the series in Clacton in three weeks’ time.
