WEY Valley School have retained their Dorset School Windsurfing Games crown.

The games were this year, held at the Official Test Centre based at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.

Last year, it was held at Sandbanks where the team from Wey Valley School were the overall winners bringing the games back to Weymouth.

Teams from five schools fielded more than 30 pupils across the three fleets.

In total, 25 races were completed with lots of opportunities to improve skills with demonstrations and tips from the very good team of instructors managing the day.

The Challenge fleet was won by Skylar Roper while in the 6.5 metre and below fleet, Alexandra Stevenson from Wey Valley took the gold medal.

In the 6.5 metre and above fleet, there was a high standard of performance and it was closely contested with Scotty Stallman from Wey Valley and Izzy Adcock from Poole sharing the top spot on the podium.

The performances from all schools were taken into account in order to work out the overall winning team of the games and Wey Valley were delighted to have succeeded in retaining their title.

The Challenger fleet had great fun at the end in the competition on giant paddleboards and made the most of the opportunity.

The organisation of the event was extremely efficient and the youngsters all had a good day of physical activity.
