WEYMOUTH Rowing Club took their first win of the new Jurassic League during the Swanage Regatta.
Hosts Swanage finished second in a result that sees Weymouth jump above Bridport into first place in the overall standings.
Weymouth’s crews were in superb form, taking five wins, two second places and a third, fourth and fifth out of eight competing clubs.
Sea conditions were mixed as rowers headed out to Old Harry’s Rocks on a kite course, with choppy waters and brisk winds met round the first mark.
There was success for Weymouth’s youth crew in the under-16 race as their line-up, most of whom were under 14, won an epic battle against Portland to claim third place.
Next up is Sidmouth Regatta where Weymouth will hope to consolidate their lead in the Jurassic League standings.
