BRIDPORT have been crowned Jurassic League champions.
Runners-up Weymouth were just edged out by one point in a close-fought campaign.
The final regatta at Sidmouth was cancelled due to adverse sea conditions so results were based on the positions so far in the league.
Weymouth ended up with 64 points, just behind Bridport with 63 and Langstone achieved a well-fought third position with 75 points.
In other sections, Weymouth ladies A and men’s A were runners-up to Bridport and Weymouth ladies B achieved first place.
In the under-16s, Weymouth gained a well-deserved third place.
A Weymouth club spokesman said: "The Jurassic League has been a great success, bringing another focus to the regatta season and seeing clubs enjoy the competition on the water off our incredible Jurassic coast."
A Bridport club rower added: "The Jurassic League has brought a whole new dimension to racing this year.
"We all now look forward to a new season of the Jurassic League in 2018."
