THE end of the sailing season at the Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association is marked by the laying up supper, which this year was held at Weymouth Golf Club.
With a good attendance, members enjoyed good food and company sharing stories from summer cruises.
Last Tuesday, Ian McQuade from Portland Port Authority visited the club and gave a fascinating and enlightening talk about the commercial aspects of the Port and the benefits to the local community.
The talk next week will be by James Irvine and Keith Hocking from the St. John Ambulance and they will be giving advice on all aspects of first aid covering most general injuries and what action we should take, particularly for injuries and illness experienced at sea.
This is sure to be of interest to all and will start at the usual time of 8pm.
