DORSET Disabled Cricket Club held their annual presentation in the lounge at Dorchester Town FC.

President Leslie Phillips and secretary Gordon Pickersgill presented the awards, which saw Sherborne’s Michael Chant pick up player of the year for his fantastic dedication and commitment over the last 20 years.

Man of the match awards for the team’s home games were also handed out with Tom Best claiming the one against Hampshire for a fantastic knock of 169 not out, which was the highest score ever in a match and secured Dorset their first win over a top county side.

The other home game accolade went to Nick Green for his tremendous performance against Somerset.

Josh Courtney was named improver of the year for get-ting called up to the England team for the first time, while flowers were presented to three of the team’s helpers, Christine Wiltshire, Jeanette Pickersgill and Marie Pickers-gill.
