DORSET skipper Chris Park has described tomorrow’s tussle with Wiltshire as a must-win contest at Warminster (11am).

The Dean Park outfit have been forced into tinkering with the side that lost at home to Cornwall last Sunday as Mark Wolstenholme, Tom Hicks and Jake Lintott are all unavailable.

That paves the way for batsman Tom Smith and leg-spinner Jem Warner to make their competitive debuts for the county after featuring in pre-season.

And the county captain, who has been impressed by what he has seen from youngster Warner, is hoping his leg-breaks can provide an x-factor to the Dorset attack.

“Jem bowled really well on his debut against the Hampshire second XI,” Park said.

“Being a young leg-spinner, there are no worries with his credentials and I’m just looking forward to him expressing himself and maybe staking a claim for a more regular spot as the season progresses.”

Speaking about the contest as a whole, in which former Hampshire wicketkeeper batsman Michael Bates is set to line up against Dorset, Park added: “It’s a must-win game for us, we can’t really afford to lose any more in the group.

“Wiltshire losing against Wales was a little bit of a shock and there will be a little bit of pressure on them to put their defeat behind them as well.”
