DORSET were thwarted by the weather on the second day of play in their Unicorns Championship Western Division clash with Shropshire.

Having bowled out the visitors for 295 at Dean Park and reached 171-3 by the close of day one, Dorset went on to make 376.

Masoor Khan and Jake Lintott put on 160 for the fourth wicket before the former was run out on 157.

His knock, which lasted more than four hours, came off 215 balls and included 17 fours and three sixes.

Lintott also went on to compile a century, blasting 129 in 135 deliveries and striking 19 boundaries and one maximum.

Mark Wolstenholme also added a quickfire 38 while Charlie Morris took 6-127 for Shropshire.

However, after losing an hour to rain in the earlier sessions, play was abandoned for the day at 6pm when the inclement weather struck again.

By that point the visitors had reached 48-1 in their second innings, leaving them still trailing by 33 runs going into the last day today.
