DESPITE spending all of this season in the bottom three of the top tier, Dorchester could do tomorrow what has proved elusive for most in recent years and complete a league double over Parley.

Dorchester won the reverse game in June by three wickets as captain Simon Mitchem and Sean Fitzgerald made key contributions with the bat.

And the county town side head to Dean Park tomorrow (1pm) for their penultimate fixture of the summer with Mitchem still eyeing the possibility of finishing sixth in the Dorset Premier League.

“We had a great win last Saturday and everyone is keen to get out there and finish the season on a high,” he said.

“It is going to be out of our control if we do play because of the weather, but it would be nice to beat Parley again.

“And it would be great to play this weekend as some of our lads haven’t played at Dean Park for a while.”

He added: “This season has been a bit up and down. We’ve played some good cricket against the top teams but also some average cricket as well.

“But if we can win our last two games we could potentially finish sixth and that would represent a good season.”

James Dunham replaces Ian Legg in the one change to the Dorchester team from last weekend.
